Growth Factor Facial

Remarkable results! There is nothing like it.

The Skin Renewal Center's Growth Factor Facial (GFF) remodels and renews the skin through microneedling and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Microneedling involves the use of a Micropen, an instrument that contains very fine needles that move up and down, much like a sewing machine. These needles are used to pierce the skin to create a very controlled response. Each puncture creates a small channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin. There is improvement in skin texture and firmness as well as the reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks.

This process is significantly enhanced by the addition of the patient's platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Obtained through a simple blood draw, the PRP contains a high concentration of platelets and eight different growth factors. After treatment with the Micropen, the PRP is gently applied to the area and is rapidly drawn it into the skin through the channels created by the micro-needles. This results in reparative cells and growth factors entering the treated area from above as well as from below through the vascular system. This creates enormous renewal of the skin as new cells and collagen are created. As a result, existing scars, large pores, wrinkles and pigmentation fade as the fresh, new skin layer is laid down.

The Growth Factor Facial can be used to treat:

  • Acne scars
  • Sun-damaged skin with hyperpigmentation, redness, and skin crinkling
  • Fine lines around the mouth and eyes
  • Wrinkles on the face, neck, and décolletage
  • Dull, rough or grey skin tone and texture
  • Stretch marks

The GFF is safe and effective. Front to finish, the procedure takes 1½-2 hours. During this time, a topical anesthetic is applied to ensure our patient's comfort. The  GFF requires little recovery time. There may be redness and some tenderness on the first day that appears much like a sunburn. The initial redness generally subsides, rapidly, within 24-48 hours. After your procedure, the skin may tend to be dry, and it is important that the cells have the right environment to thrive. To this end, we recommend the use of Regenica Repair and Avène Tolerance. Regenica speeds healing through its stimulation of growth factors, while Avène Tolerance moisturizes and hydrates the skin to provide an optimal milieu for healing.

To achieve an optimal outcome, it is critical that the treated area be protected from the sun.  A broad spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 should be applied each morning. Sun exposure should be minimized for 2 weeks after being treated with a GFF.

This is not a procedure to have if considering a beach vacation within 2 to 3 weeks.

The greatest benefit of the GFF is found 2-3 months after your treatment. Your skin will look great, feel more youthful, and overall, you should feel fully refreshed. These results can last between 1-2 years depending on the individual. Daily sunblock (SPF 30) use will prolong the benefits of the Growth Factor Facial as well as reduce the risk of developing skin cancer.

"GFF changed my life. Creams and over-the-counter stuff cannot do what this facial did for my face. Fine lines, some discoloration and minor scars, GONE."
