Growth Factor Facial

One of our most popular procedures is the Growth Factor Facial, which combines microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP). This combination causes the skin to produce collagen and elastin with minimal downtime. This improves the firmness and texture of the skin as well as reducing pore size, scars, and stretch marks.

The PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) contains eight growth factors which are drawn into the skin through microneedling. This process is virtually painless, takes about one and a half hours to perform, and results in an improvement in the skin in about three days. Some patients will appear to have a sunburn for 2-3 days after being treated.

We utilize two different microneedling devices, the Micropen and the Rejuvapen. The Micropen is our general all-around microneedling tool. It can address most of the signs of aging and most acne scarring. Downtime is minimal with the Micropen.

For our patients with deeper wrinkles and more severe scars, we use the Rejuvapen. This device is quite powerful, allowing us to treat more challenging skin conditions.

Both devices have their place in our practice. When you come in for a consultation, we can discuss which device best fits your needs. We utilize platelet-rich plasma (PRP) with both devices to speed healing and facilitate skin remodeling.

The Growth Factor Facial also can smooth acne scars, reduce hyperpigmentation, and improve the appearance of sun-damaged skin.

To ensure an optimal outcome with the GFF, it is critical that the treated area be protected from the sun. A broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 should be applied each morning. Exposure to the sun should be kept to a minimum for two weeks after a GFF. Daily use of sunblock (SPF 30 or more) will prolong the benefits.
