We hope that all our patients and families are remaining healthy during this pandemic. COVID-19 testing is an important part of controlling the spread of this infection (in addition to hand washing, mask use, and social distancing).
With that in mind, the office staff was tested for COVID-19 utilizing an oral swab this past Saturday. It could not have been easier. The testing site is set up in the B/C parking lot at Minute Maid Ballpark near Downtown. The oral swab is self-administered under the guidance of a staff member. You never leave your car and communicate through a closed car window. The whole process takes about 10 minutes. Better yet, we got our test results Sunday evening. All of us were NEGATIVE for COVID-19.
We all have been very careful and expected negative results. We did not want to assume that we were NEGATIVE, given that asymptomatic COVID-infections can and do occur. We are continuing with our infection control measures at the office as well as in our personal lives.
